James Taylor, Eddie Vedder set to rock Obama fundraisers

By Judy Kurtz - 09/12/12 12:28 PM ET

WE HEAR: President Obama definitely has a fundraising friend in James Taylor.

Fresh off his performance at the Democratic National Convention (where he belted out “Carolina in my Mind” and cracked jokes about empty chairs), Taylor is poised to appear at a Friday fundraiser for the president.

Word is the commander in chief won’t get a chance to see the “Fire and Rain” singer play some tunes at the $2,500 a ticket event in a private home in Florida — he’s not planning on attending.

But Obama will get to rock out with another money-raising ally.

ITK hears Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder will lend his singing and guitar-playing talents to a $20,000 per person fundraiser with Obama in Tampa later this month at the home of Lisa DeBartolo and Don Miggs. DeBartolo is the daughter of Edward DeBartolo, Jr., the former owner of the San Francisco 49ers.
