Underwear shoppers get behind Obama

By Judy Kurtz - 10/24/12 06:38 PM ET

Revealing numbers show that undergarment-wearers prefer to sport President Obama-themed skivvies.

According to this year’s sales numbers from CafePress.com, pro-Obama thongs are outselling Mitt Romney ones by much more than a hair’s (or a string bikini’s) breadth — 80 percent to 20.

Obama is also kicking his GOP presidential competition’s behind in other underwear categories, including boxer briefs (in which he’s leading, 65 percent to Romney’s 35), boxer shorts and women’s boy briefs.

But it’s not all bad news for the former Massachusetts governor. CafePress’s stats expose something else about the website’s customers: They prefer to oppose the president in private.

The site says that while it’s sold anti-Obama boxer briefs and boxer shorts, it’s moved diddly-squat of the same anti-Romney gear. Anti-Obama classic thongs and women’s boy briefs are also far outselling the same anti-Romney items, 95 to 5 percent.
