In the Know: DeLay ditches 'Dancing with the Stars' after fracturing feet

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) was forced to end his three-episode run on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday, after stress fractures in both of his feet grew too severe to continue with the competition.

The 52-year-old former lawmaker had advanced through two rounds of competition, this despite suffering a pre-stress fracture in mid-September. According to sources, part of the reason for the injury may have been due to the high-heeled shoes worn by male ballroom dancers in competition.

The news will no doubt come as a disappointment to many on Capitol Hill, where "DeLay watching" parties were becoming a popular, and bipartisan, Monday-night event.
