It’s a boy for Rep. Patrick Murphy and wife, Jennifer

Congratulations are in order to Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.) and (especially) his wife Jennifer, who welcomed their second child, a son, on Monday.

John Martin “Jack” Murphy was born at 9:15 a.m. weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. According to Murphy’s spokesman, the baby was named after his grandfather, Jack Murphy, a Vietnam-era enlisted Navy veteran, and his great-grandfather Henry Martin, a U.S. Navy captain who served in World War II.

 The couple’s first child, a daughter, was born in 2007, less than a year after the retired Army captain and Iraq war veteran was elected to Congress.
