In The Know: Blagojevich cancels D.C. book appearance

By Christina Wilkie - 11/17/09 02:35 PM ET

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) has canceled his planned appearance at Tuesday's National Press Club Book Fair, according to organizers, hours before the event is scheduled to begin.

Blagojevich had planned to promote his recent memoir "The Governor" at the event, which will feature more than 100 prominent authors. The former lawmaker has been indicted on corruption charges.

According to his publicist, Blagojevich was looking forward to the event, but travel delays related to an undisclosed TV project prevented him from attending. "The governor is honored to have been asked," said publicist Glenn Selig.
