Walz loves his BobbleRep app

While Apple execs initially worried that the BobbleRep iPhone app would be insulting to lawmakers, Rep. Tim Walz’s (D-Minn.) response to it suggests they may have it backward.

Walz said the BobbleRep application is his favorite new app on his iPhone, and he demonstrated how it works to reporters at a Minnesota netroots conference this weekend.

The 99-cent app is a guide to members of Congress that features Mad magazine-style caricatures of lawmakers whose heads actually bobble when the phone is shaken.

Last week, ITK reported that after initially rejecting the BobbleRep application on the grounds that the app “ridiculed public figures,” Apple had finally relented and agreed to stock it.
