Meet the Lawmaker Rep. Barbara Lee

In your eight years in Congress, have you ever said, “Do you know who I am?”

Lee: Never. I do not ever remember saying that to anyone. I wouldn’t say that. I would give them my name. I’d say, ‘Hi, I’m Barbara.’

If you were stranded on a desert island with one other member of Congress, whom would you want it to be?
Lee: None. Zero. Stranded on a desert island? No. I would figure out how to get off of that island.

Lee: Least favorite? I don’t know. I like household chores. It’s kind of relaxing, washing the dishes. You can listen to music. It gives you a chance to think. No, I like housework.

Lee: [Laughs.]
