Meet the Lawmaker: Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.)

By Kris Kitto - 01/27/09 11:49 AM ET
What are the best and worst things about Washington?
I guess the best thing is the friendships you establish with other members. The worst thing is the partisanship.

What did you want to be when you were young?
An attorney.

If you weren’t yourself, which lawmaker would you prefer to be?
That’s a dangerous question.

Finish this sentence. My favorite place in the whole world is …

The beach. Kiawah [in South Carolina].

What is your guilty pleasure?
I don’t know — other than ice cream.

What household chore do you dislike?
You might find it surprising, but I like to clean because it makes me feel normal. It’s therapeutic.

What vote would you like to redo?
Troubled Asset Relief Program. (Note: When the bill passed in October, Myrick voted in favor of it.)

Has God ever spoken to you?
It’s a very important part of my life, and I feel he provides me direction.
