Obama to address troops at Kentucky's Fort Campbell

By Sam Youngman - 05/04/11 06:22 PM ET

President Obama will visit Fort Campbell in Kentucky on Friday to address service members returning from Afghanistan.

The fort is home to the 101st Airborne and has several brigade combat teams that have recently returned from Afghanistan, though much of the division remains deployed in that country. Vice President Joe Biden will also make the trip.

The visit continues a series of military-themed events Obama has taken part in since the successful mission he ordered that resulted in the killing of Osama bin Laden.

The president is scheduled Thursday to lay a wreath at Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center towers were destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.

Obama handed out Medals of Honor Monday at a White House ceremony.
