Spokesman: Obama may watch Romneys' Olympic horse

By Amie Parnes - 07/27/12 01:18 PM ET

President Obama is interested in seeing "every American entrant perform well" and might even watch Ann Romney's horse compete during the games, White House press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters on Friday.

Carney said he witnessed Obama saying, "I love the Olympics" earlier this week, adding that Obama "looks forward to catching as much of the games as he can."

The White House spokesman said Obama is interested in seeing "every American entrant perform well," including Rafalca, Ann Romney's horse, who is competing in dressage, one of the equestrian events at the Olympic Games in London.

Asked if he would be watching the horse event, Carney said, "If his schedule allows, i think the answer is yes."

During the briefing, Carney was also asked how he would rate his opponent Mitt Romney's visit abroad.

"I would not," Carney said.
