Obama pitches business leaders on budget

The press secretary described the meeting as "part of our ongoing engagement with the financial sector and with the business community."

The business leaders did not stop to speak with the press as they entered or left the White House.

In comments introducing his budget on Wednesday, Obama stressed the need to improve hiring as corporate profits grew.

"Over the past three years our businesses have created nearly 6.5 million new jobs, but we know we can help them create more,” Obama said. “Corporate profits are at all-time high, but we have to get wages and incomes rising as well.”
