President Trump spoke with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Sunday evening amid escalating global tension with North Korea.

“Just completed call with President Moon of South Korea. Very happy and impressed with 15-0 United Nations vote on North Korea sanctions,” he tweeted.

The phone call, which was requested by Moon, according to the White House pool report, comes one day after the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously to increase sanctions on North Korea in the wake of the regime's recent missile tests.

Trump took the call on the second day of his extended stay at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., which he is calling a working vacation.

According to a White House readout of the call, the leaders "affirmed that North Korea poses a grave and growing direct threat to the United States, South Korea, and Japan, as well as to most countries around the world."

"President Trump and President Moon welcomed the new United Nations Security Council resolution that unanimously passed 15-0. The leaders committed to fully implement all relevant resolutions and to urge the international community to do so as well," the White House added.

Minutes before his tweet on South Korea, Trump again attacked the media.

“The Fake News refuses to report the success of the first 6 months: S.C., surging economy & jobs, border & military security,ISIS & MS-13 etc.,” he wrote.
