Trump thanks Harvey responders, confirms return to Texas

President Trump confirmed on Friday that he will return to Texas for the second time this week in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

"Texas is heeling [sic] fast thanks to all of the great men & women who have been working so hard. But still, so much to do. Will be back tomorrow!" the president tweeted.

The president's tweet comes days after he visited Corpus Christi and Austin in the wake of the storm, which made landfall as a category 4 hurricane last week.

The storm pounded southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana this week, causing catastrophic flooding and claiming the lives of 37 people as of Thursday, according to The New York Times.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Thursday that Trump would be donating $1 million to Harvey recovery efforts.

Vice President Pence visited the flood-stricken region and met with victims and first responders on Thursday.
