"Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss," he wrote on Twitter. "She lost the debates and lost her direction!"

"The 'deplorables' came back to haunt Hillary.They expressed their feelings loud and clear. She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!" he added in a second tweet.

Trump's tweets came a day after Clinton released "What Happened," her new book focused on her experiences on the campaign trail in 2016.

In it, the former secretary of State bemoans Russia's efforts to meddle in the 2016 election, former FBI Director James Comey's decision to reopen the bureau's investigation into her use of a private email server and Sen. Trump has refrained in recent weeks from attacking his former opponent on Twitter. But his tweets on Wednesday revived the real estate mogul's campaign-trail nickname for Clinton, while revisiting his 2016 victory, which he has frequently mentioned since taking office.
