White House chief of staff John KellyJohn Francis KellyMORE on Wednesday blasted a California high school teacher who slammed the military during a classroom lesson.

“I think the guy ought to go to hell,” Kelly said during an interview on Fox News Radio. “I just hope he enjoys the liberties and the lifestyles that we fought for.”

Gregory Salcido, who teaches at a school outside Los Angeles, said in a video recorded by a student that military servicemembers fighting overseas are “the lowest of our low.”

“They’re not, like, high-level thinkers; they’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people,” he said.

Salcido, who also referred to people who enlist in the military as “dumbshits,” has reportedly been placed on administrative leave after facing widespread condemnation from school officials and parents.

Before entering the Trump administration, Kelly was a four-star general in the Marine Corps. One of his sons was killed while fighting in Afghanistan.

Kelly has lauded the military during his public appearances as chief of staff.
