FEC fines Frost $6K

By Aaron Blake - 02/28/07 03:44 AM ET

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has fined former Rep. Martin Frost’s (D-Texas) campaign committee $6,000 for failing to include proper disclaimers on printed campaign communications, the commission announced yesterday.

The FEC determined that Frost’s disclaimers did not meet requirements because they were not set apart from the content of the communications by printed boxes.

Frost, a former chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee who served in Congress for 26 years until losing to Rep. Pete Sessions (R) in 2004, now is an attorney at Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus.

“The people who prepared my mailing didn’t put a box around the disclaimer,” Frost said.
