Fox News host Jesse Watters argued that the “forgotten men and women” who make up Trump’s base would approve of the comment, and Tucker Carlson asked why Trump’s remark was being treated as a “major event” because Trump swears “all the time.”

Social media users slammed Lahren for her defense.

In a series of tweets Friday, Trump denied saying “anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country” and said that while he used “tough language” in the meeting with lawmakers, “this was not the language used.”
