Scarborough blasts House GOP on Russia: ‘Everybody knows they’re lying’

On Tuesday’s episode of “Morning Joe,” Scarborough criticized the members for “lying” about whether Russians who interfered in the election did so with the goal of getting Trump elected.

“Why did they lie when everybody knows they’re lying?” Scarborough said.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee closed their Russia probe Monday without consulting Democratic committee members. In an initial report on their conclusions, the Republicans also said they found no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

“These members saw the testimony of four intelligence officers appointed by Donald Trump testify before Congress that Russia tried to interfere in the election on behalf of Donald Trump,” Scarborough said. “They know that, it’s a matter of public record.”

Scarborough added that, by ending the probe based on the findings outlined in the draft report, the panel’s GOP members “ignore” Trump’s intelligence officials and “everybody that’s testified before their own body."
