Sheldon Adelson, the casino mogul and staunch GOP donor, contributed $5 million to support President Trump’s inauguration, according to a Tuesday Federal Election Commission filing.

Adelson’s contribution is the highest donation contribution ever given for a president’s inaugural ceremony, according to The New York Times

Other close allies to the president also provided substantial donations, including the New England Patriots' Robert Kraft, who donated $1 million, and Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman, who donated $250,000, the FEC filing shows.

Trump’s longtime friend Tom Barrack headed the inaugural committee, which raised a record $107 million for the ceremony, almost twice as much as former President Barack ObamaBarack Hussein ObamaRivals and consumers will rein in Facebook, not regulation Obamas send handwritten note to Parkland students: 'We will be there for you' Water has experienced a decade of bipartisan success MORE raised for his first inauguration in 2009.
