At least 58 people were killed and hundreds were injured when a gunman opened fire at a country music festival in Las Vegas.

The suspected gunman was identified as Stephen Paddock, a Nevada resident. He was found dead by police.

The attack is the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, surpassing the death toll of the Orlando nightclub massacre last year.

President Trump extended his sympathies on Monday to the victims of the attack.

"My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting," Trump tweeted. "God bless you!"
