Republican Catherine Davis, who worked for Sen. George Allen (R) when he was governor of Virginia, announced yesterday that she will try again to dethrone Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.).
“McKinney’s dismal legislative record and her outrageous behavior are an embarrassment to the hard working folks in my district,” Davis, an executive with Sprint, said in a statement.
McKinney could face criminal charges for hitting a Capitol Police officer with her cell phone this year.
She lost her seat in 2002 but reclaimed it in 2004, beating Davis 64-36 percent. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) won 72 percent of the vote in McKinney’s 4th Congressional District in 2004.
