Sunday show preview: Bachmann's turn and debt talks standoff

By Jamie Klatell - 06/25/11 10:49 AM ET

Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) will grab the Sunday morning spotlight this weekend as she leads up to the official launch of her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

Bachmann, the outspoken conservative, will be the featured guest on CBS' "Face the Nation" and "Fox News Sunday."

Gov. Chris Christie (N.J.), who can't seem to repeat often enough that he is not running for president in 2012, gets top billing on NBC's "Meet the Press" this week after winning a battle in his home state to slash benefits for state employees and retirees.

The stalled debt-reduction talks will get plenty of attention from the Sunday talkers, as well.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Asst. Minority Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) will square off on ABC's "This Week," and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) will be on CNN.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), who pulled out of talks led by Vice President Biden, will be on "Fox News Sunday."

"Meet the Press" takes a shot at military affairs with Democratic Sens. Jack Reed (R.I.) and Jim Webb (Va.).
