Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) said Sunday that he has spoken with President Trump every day as his state prepares for the impact of Hurricane Irma.

“The president said, ‘Look, I will provide whatever resources you need,’ when I talked to him. I pretty much talk to him every day,” Scott told “Fox News Sunday.”

Irma is now expected to move up the west coast of Florida as a Category 4 hurricane.

Scott said he is “very concerned” about the state’s west coast and emphasized his focus on saving lives.

“We will do everything we can to keep everybody safe,” Scott said. “We will spare no expense to save every life in this state.”

In an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Scott also said he has spoken with almost every member of Trump’s Cabinet.

“I think almost every Cabinet member called me once a day from the administration, just making sure we had all the resources.”

Millions of Floridians have been told to evacuate as the state braces for the storm.

Scott also said Florida needs more volunteers to help in shelters, including nurses for those with special needs.

Scott during an interview Sunday on ABC warned of the storm’s impact.

“We’re going to get everything, we’re going to get the winds of Andrew, this thing is bigger than our whole state, we’re going to the storm surge,” he said on “This Week.”

“My biggest worry is the people who didn’t evacuate and the people who don’t understand the risk of the storm surge,” he added.
