Byrd released from the hospital
Posted: 03/13/08 12:07 PM [ET]
Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) is back at work Thursday after having been discharged from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he had stayed since last week after suffering from a reaction to an antibiotic.

Byrd’s office said the senator left the hospital late Wednesday night and plans to cast his vote today on the Fiscal Year 2009 budget resolution. The 90-year-old was first admitted in the hospital late last month after falling in his home.

The senator initially was released after it was determined that he had not broken any bones in the fall. Byrd was readmitted after reacting to an antibiotic that he took for an infection.
