Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), one of the most conservative members of the Senate, told Attorney General Alberto Gonzales Thursday that he ought to resign. Gonzales has faced tough questions all day from Democrats and Republicans alike on his role in the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, and even close White House allies have criticized the attorney general.
