Craig to get his day in court
Posted: 09/12/07 06:57 PM [ET]

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) will get his day in court just four days before his planned Sept. 30 resignation, giving him a slim window to win reversal of his guilty plea in an airport sex sting.

The Hennepin County court set a Sept. 26 hearing date for Craig in Edina, Minn., just outside Minneapolis, Reuters reported late Tuesday. It is unclear whether Craig would appear in person at the courthouse or send lawyers to argue his claim to waive an Aug. 8 guilty plea to disorderly conduct. If the hearing does end positively for Craig, however, his departure from the Senate could become less certain.
