Dodd hits the air with climate-change ad
Posted: 05/31/07 05:37 PM [ET]

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) made another foray onto the presidential battlefields of Iowa and New Hampshire Thursday, hitting the air with a campaign ad discussing climate change.

Titled “Global,” the ad features children singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and playing with globes and inflatable models of the Earth, while the narrator explains that Dodd’s energy plan has been hailed by former Vice President Al Gore and ex-Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.).

“All the Earth’s creatures are threatened by global warming,” the narrator says. “One candidate for president is doing something to stop it.”

The ad extols Dodd’s “courageous corporate carbon tax,” which some energy experts have endorsed.

The ad went up in Iowa and New Hampshire Thursday with a “moderate-sized” buy, according to a Dodd spokeswoman.

The spokeswoman added that the spot will run in the early-voting states for at least a week.
