Family death delays Daub announcement
Posted: 09/12/07 07:02 PM [ET]

Former Rep. Hal Daub (R-Neb.) on Tuesday delayed a decision on the 2008 Nebraska Senate race because of the death of his mother-in-law.

After Sen. Chuck Hagel’s (R-Neb.) retirement announcement on Monday, Daub said that he would say “something specific” about his political plans the following day. With Hagel officially out of the race, he is widely expected to jump in.

The funeral is set for Saturday, according to a statement released Tuesday morning.
