Florida court denies Jennings’s appeal
Posted: 06/19/07 07:10 PM [ET]

A Florida appellate court yesterday denied Democrat Christine Jennings’s appeal in a suit she filed to gain access to voting-machine software in the wake of her 2006 defeat.

Jennings lost to Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) by fewer than 400 votes last year in an election she says saw significant undervoting, particularly in Sarasota, Fla.

Following Jennings’s defeat, members of the Florida delegation requested a task force review on the issue from the late Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-Calif.).

That task force last week voted unanimously to continue with its review plan as designed by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) with July 27 as the target date for completion.
