Hastert, others to unveil energy security policy |

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) and several Republican lawmakers will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce a comprehensive GOP 21st century energy security policy.
Hastert announced the proposal and its three focus areas in a Friday memo to House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Rep. Adam Putnam (R-Fla.), who is a part of the 10-member working group.
The policy’s focus areas are energy efficiency and conservation; energy security and diversity; and energy research and diversity.
“Americans are realists. They know there is no silver bullet to this crisis and it cannot be solved by empty political rhetoric,” the memo read. |
