House selects new food vendor |

A new food vendor has been hired to spice up the offerings on the House side. The arrival of food service company Restaurant Associates will bring a completely unionized staff to the House and a new taste, with the company promising to cook up more choices packed with fresh ingredients. All of the House’s food service workers will keep their jobs, but the move will bring changes to the Ford House office building. Restaurant Associates will replace the Middle Eastern food available in Ford with a wider variety of food served by 20 new food service employees. Rep. Robert Brady, (D-Pa.), chairman of the Committee on House Administration, announced the change in a statement and also unveiled that the company will also provide food service for the Capitol Visitors Center when it opens. The company plans to take over food service operations in December. |
