McCain camp says media 'in love' with Obama
Posted: 07/22/08 12:04 PM [ET]
Republican presidential candidate John McCain's campaign sent out an e-mail to supporters accusing the media of being "in love" with Democratic rival Barack Obama.

The e-mail contains a link to two videos that feature a compilation of high-profile media personalities like MSNBC's Chris Matthews raving about Sen. Obama (D-Ill.). The videos contain different love songs as backdrops.

The videos mention that all three broadcast network anchors are traveling with Obama on his overseas trip this week, and at one point text on the screen notes: "He makes them swoon."

Viewers are invited to vote for which video they prefer, and are invited to contribute financially to the campaign.

"The media is in love with Barack Obama," the e-mail says. "If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny."

The McCain campaign has struggled to generate the same media attention Obama has garnered  while traveling overseas. For example, on Monday the Drudge Report reported that a McCain op-ed rebutting one from Obama was rejected by The New York Times. McCain also appeared on several morning talk shows that day.
