Obama to say America can do better |

DENVER -- Barack Obama will tell a huge crowd at a football stadium and a nationwide television audience that America can do better than the last eight years. Excerpts of Sen. Obama's (D-Ill.) speech released to the media list a range of problems facing the country. "Tonight, more Americans are out of work and more are working harder for less... more of you have lost your homes and more are watching your home values plummet."He blames the failure of the government to respond to these problems on "the failed presidency of George W. Bush." "America, we are better than these last eight years. We are a better country than this." About four hours before Obama is set to speak, Invesco Field is quickly filling. Even the upper tiers of the stadium are about half-filled, and the audience is weathering hot temperatures and a plethora of political speeches. The event also has a bit of glitz. Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem and, John Legend and Will I Am are set to perform.
