Portman to leave White House
Posted: 06/19/07 12:04 PM [ET]

Rob Portman will leave his post as director of the Office of Management and Budget and former House Budget Committee Chairman Jim Nussle (Iowa) will be named as his replacement, according to a White House official.

"Rob has done an incredible job as budget director, he’s loved here and will be missed," said the White House official. "He’s been in public service now for over 14 years, and has teenage kids that he’d like to spend more time with.  Jim Nussle is an outstanding replacement.  Even this late in the Administration the President continues to attract top notch advisors."

An official announcement is expected Tuesday afternoon.
