An unidentified man was arrested after fleeing from U.S. Capitol Police attempting to make a traffic stop Monday morning.
The man fled in his vehicle, hitting several parked cars and a small commuter bus carrying three people in the process. He raced off after officers attempted to pull over his compact sedan on Massachusetts Avenue NW for suspicious tags around 11 a.m.
The car crashed into several parked cars after jumping the median at New Jersey Avenue NW and H Street NW, at which point the suspect fled on foot and was apprehended by Capitol Police officers. Metropolitan Police also were on the scene.
The two bus passengers and driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending.
