Tubbs Jones hospitalized
Posted: 08/20/08 08:47 AM [ET]

Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Ohio) was hospitalized Tuesday night.

The Ohio Democrat was taken to the Huron Road Hospital in East Cleveland after police found her sitting unconscious in her pulled over car around 9 p.m. Before being found unconscious, police told a local television station, officers tried to pull over Tubbs Jones for driving over the speed limit.

A spokesman for the Hospital confirms that Tubbs Jones has been “stabilized” but said family members have asked that no further information be told to news outlets.

The Democratic Congresswoman was one of the strongest supporters of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) presidential bid, holding out her endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama until after the primary ended in June. Tubbs Jones was scheduled to attend next week’s Democratic Convention in Denver.
