Waxman asks Rice to testify
Posted: 03/30/07 01:34 PM [ET]
After not receiving a response to written questions, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) is asking Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to testify before the panel on a variety of issues, including the administration’s claim that Iraq was trying to obtain uranium from Niger.

The hearing, which Waxman wants to hold April 18, would also cover the White House treatment of classified information and other subjects.

However, the lawmaker indicated that the date is flexible if that day does not work for Rice.
