White House
The official website of the president is a good place to go for information on the executive branch. You can find presidential addresses and transcripts from White House press conferences here, or just read up on where the administration stands on th
Senate
The Senate’s website is a portal to the homepages of lawmakers and committees and provides other useful content, especially regarding recent votes.
House
Just as its Senate companion, the official site of the House of Representatives provides links to its members and committees. In addition, there are many interesting and useful links.
GPO Access
The Congressional Directory is the official directory of the U.S. Congress, prepared by the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP).
Clerk of the House
Thomas
A one-stop shop for all things Congress. Thomas provides the congressional record and a database of all bills and votes from the current Congress as well as extensive archives.
Lobby filing disclosure program
Lobby filing disclosure program (http://sopr.senate.gov/): This site is a searchable database that allows users to find lobbyists and to find out who is hiring them and what they are getting paid.
FEC
The Federal Election Committee’s website is a great place to look if you want to find out donates to politicians’ campaigns. A database allows searches of donors and includes financial reports of the parties, candidates and political action commi
Federal Register
The Federal Register, which is published on all work days, provides an overview of the activity of government agencies. It lists which rules and regulations have been published, and informs citizens how they can weigh in on the rulemaking process.
Office of Management and Budget
Though this is a White House site, it warrants special attention. OMB’s website provides useful links to the president’s budget and federal regulations. You can even find out which stakeholders are meeting with which administration officials.

The Government Accountability Office is the independent and bipartisan research arm of Congress. GAO's website is updated daily and includes reports to Congress and testimony of its staff at congressional hearings.
USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site
Official Federal Government site listing positions nationwide for special agent, federal police officers and related jobs
CBO
The Congressional Budget Office "scores? bills" bills (meaning it calculates how much legislation will cost) and keeps an eye on the budget. The website does not add content as often as GAO, but it is a very useful place to go if you are looking for
