CNN to air Van Jones/Bill Maher town hall special

CNN's Van Jones will host a town hall featuring HBO's Bill Maher next week.

Maher, a progressive comedian and host of HBO's "Real Time" will take questions from a live studio audience in Los Angeles on Feb. 9, with Jones, briefly a member of the Obama administration, serving as moderator.

"The special will take a look at Maher’s history as a major influencer with more than 20 years on television as an outspoken voice in American politics and culture," reads the CNN announcement. "Less than one month since President Trump has taken office, Jones will lead a timely discussion with Maher and audience members on the administration’s recent Executive Orders, Supreme Court nominee, Cabinet appointments and where America is heading moving forward."

CNN has added town halls as a periodic part of its primetime programming. Earlier this week, the network hosted a live town hall with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
