Posted: 07/03/07 06:55 PM [ET]
What is your favorite political show on TV?
Rep. McNulty: “The evening news … ‘CBS News with Katie Couric.’”

What is your guilty pleasure?
Rep. McNulty: “Chinese food — Young Chow on Pennsylvania Avenue.”

What is the last book you read?
Rep. McNulty: “John Grisham’s The Firm. I’ve read nearly all of them [Grisham’s novels], just to relax.”

What has been the craziest constituent request?
Rep. McNulty: “To fix someone’s kitchen sink. Apparently there was some kind of problem in the water line. People say, ‘Call your congressman,’ so they called their congressman. We called the city municipal, to see if it was a curbside problem. They got the problem fixed for him. He was pretty grateful.”

In a perfect world, would there be any Republicans?
Rep. McNulty: “Oh, sure. Diversity is our strength, always.”

Who is you favorite Republican?
Rep. McNulty:
“I’ve got a lot of Republicans that I like. [Rep.] Wally Herger (R-Calif.) — he’s just a very friendly, plain-speaking, down-to-earth friend.”

Where is your favorite place on this planet?
Rep. McNulty:
“Babcock Lake in Grafton, N.Y. It’s a very small lake that does not allow electric motorboats. My family goes there one week every summer.”

What is your proudest moment?
Rep. McNulty:
“Watching my children collaborate on a cancer walk every year. They all walk on it, get sponsors, and help raise money. Our family has experienced cancer; there aren’t too many that haven’t.”

What is something that shocked you about how Congress operates?
Rep. McNulty:
“There isn’t anything in Congress that shocks me. I’m not easily shocked, not at this stage of life. I’m turning 60 in a couple months.”

Have you ever attended college or high school reunions?
Rep. McNulty:
“I went to my 25th college reunion, but that was a while ago. I think that was the only one I went to. I’ll wait for the 50th.”

How many times have you said, “Do you know who I am?”
Rep. McNulty:
“I don’t think I’ve ever said that.”

Has God ever spoken to you?
Rep. McNulty:
“No.”

Have you ever smoked marijuana?
Rep. McNulty:
“No.”
