After winning the race to replace retiring Rep. Tim Griffin (R), French Hill will be in elected office for the first time. But the Arkansas businessman has long advised big names in the Republican Party, including former President George H.W. Bush and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Hill is the CEO and founder of Delta Bank & Trust and a former chairman of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a senior economic adviser and deputy assistant secretary to the Treasury Department in the George H.W. Bush administration.

Hill touted his job creation skills on the campaign trail, vowing to use his economic chops to tighten federal purse strings in Washington.

Hill and his wife have two children, Liza and Payne, and live in Little Rock.
