Ryan Zinke defeated Democrat John Lewis in the race for Montana’s at-large district. Zinke had a 23-year career of service as a Navy SEAL before retiring in 2008 to run for Montana state Senate. Zinke served in the 2003 Iraq War and in special operations missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Kosovo. He was awarded with two Bronze Stars in 2006 for combat.

Zinke is the CEO of Continental Divide International, a consulting company. A native Montanan, Zinke lives in Whitefish with his wife, Lolita, and their three children.
