Frank Guinta is returning to his old seat after defeating Democratic incumbent Rep. Carol Shea-Porter in their third contest against each other.

He defeated Shea-Porter in 2010 when he entered Congress for the first time, but lost his reelection bid to her in 2012. Shea-Porter was vulnerable this year in the slightly conservative-leaning district.

Guinta has a long record of public service, beginning his political career in New Hampshire’s House of Representatives. He was also mayor of Manchester, the state’s largest city from 2006 to 2010.

He and his wife, Morgan, live in Manchester with their two children.
