Extend home tax credit to recover housing values

In response to “Reid’s proposal on home tax credit boosts campaign theme” (June 14): A lot of buyers got caught up in paperwork glitches due to the current unsettled market.

The availability of credit was a significant factor in their decision to buy, and some of those contracts will fall through if the credit extension does not pass. 

In the interest of fairness, and to help the recovery of housing values, we hope the amendment for a three-month extension for homebuyers who qualify for the federal tax credit is approved.
