Its obvious that Glen Beck is hitting a few nerves when cartoonists are taking shots at him. Maybe the rest of the news media might want to listen to his message as it's the message most people are tuning into. Fox had the13 top news shows for September with Beck at #3. Our elected officials may want to pay more attention to FOX, as we do.BY Roger Peck on 10/05/2009 at 21:21
Glen Beck is not news. He is an entertainer who preteneds to be reporting news. Facts have never been important to his form of propaganda. Beck listeners, who think they are informed about the world, are impossible to reason with seem to value hate and paranoia overtruth and justice.BY Paul on 10/06/2009 at 08:25
Hey, Paul! I don't think you've listened to him. He doesn't report news, he gives strong opinions backed by facts. Were the statements of Van Jones in error? Is it reasonable to form an opinion on the basis of those statements? Are the statements of Obama regarding redistribution of wealth in error? Can you form an opinion on that basis? You should get out more.BY David on 10/06/2009 at 16:17
I will admit that FOX has an absolutely brilliant marketing strategy and has fostered a loyal viewer base. However, that doesn't mean that FOX isn't pumping out trash - 90210 is very popular too but with the same content quality as FOX.BY John Schultz on 10/06/2009 at 16:27
All these people constantly defending the indefensible! Just think if Bush was president and people, say black people, were bringing guns to his speeches, congress people were going to foreign countries and telling their leaders not to trust America, or marching on DC calling Bush all the nasty, ugly names the teabaggers called Obama (and don't give me the "before the war bull- getting in to a fake war is another animal entirely to taxes and spending)There's more but you get my drift. There'd be paddy wagons on every corner to take these folks away, the FBI would be alerted and those speaking out in foreign countries would have their passports revoked at the border. Many Republicans are morally and emotionally bankrupt- like our country is now after 8 yrs of Bush. Glenn Beck is just one of the worst symptoms of the vacuous thinking on the right.BY Anita on 10/06/2009 at 17:25
Not sure I'd agree with Anita completely - there was plent of Bush bashing back in the day. However, the Republican party certainly has gotten itself into a sad state.I'm 60 , live in Texas, have worked for the oil industry for 20 years, voted for Reagan and Bush 41 (haven't voted R since). The R's stated to lose me in 1994 - they're just plain goofie now.To paraphrase one of my favorite movies: The Republicans are a little party, a silly party, greedy, barbarous and cruel.BY John Schultz on 10/06/2009 at 17:41
