Oya is bringing sexy back

Justin Timberlake apparently hasn’t cornered the market on bringing sexy back. Oya Restaurant & Lounge is promoting suggestive libations for the month of February. The latest addition to Oya’s wine list, “Sex” is a brut rosé sparkling wine of California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes produced by L. Mawby Vineyards in Suttons Bay, Mich. The wine exudes a strawberry and raspberry fruit nose with yeasty accents.

Oya’s wine director and sommelier, Andrew Stover, discovered “Sex” (in a bottle) last summer on a trip to Michigan, and first served it at a New Year’s celebration. The special wine will be on offer during February in honor of Valentine’s Day. “The wine is provocative, pink and sexy — the perfect combination for Valentine’s,” Stover said.

Chef Chris Hylton will offer a five-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu with Asian and French themes for $125. A wine-pairing package is also available for $40 with a different wine paired with each course.

Oya is located at 777 9th St. N.W., 20001. Phone: 202-393-1400. For more information, visit www.oyadc.com.

Topaz Bar and Bar Rouge to host Super Bowl Parties

Topaz Bar and Bar Rouge are throwing parties for football fanatics and their football-fatigued counterparts. Topaz will host the All-American Super Bowl Party while Bar Rouge is transformed into a sports-free zone with a Super Bowl spa party.

Both events take place Sunday, Feb. 4, from 3 p.m. to midnight.

Topaz Bar will set up additional TVs for patrons. The menu celebrates the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears with selections such as “Lovie Dogs,” chilidogs with sweet-potato friends, and Hail Manning potato skins.

Drink specials will include the Field Goal, featuring two Sam Adams, two Dragon Stouts, and two Heinekens for $9.

Non-sports junkies can flock to Bar Rouge for a day of pampering and martini-drinking. From 6 to 9 p.m., the bar will offer mini-manicures and hand massages. And forget about football. TVs will air reruns of “Desperate Housewives.”

Topaz Bar is located at 1733 N St. N.W. Phone: 202-393-3000.

Bar Rouge is located at 1315 16th St. N.W.; Phone: 202-232-8000.
