Jackie’s slashes wine prices for anniversary
Jackie’s Restaurant, just over the D.C. line on Georgia Avenue, is a charming, eclectic spot in the up-and-coming Silver Spring neighborhood.

To celebrate its 20-month anniversary, the restaurant is pouring its entire wine list for 20 percent off.

Jackie’s is at 8081 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, Md.

Caf Saint-Ex serves as ‘local meeting place’
Looking for a sophisticated venue with a great outdoor patio? Look no further than Caf Saint-Ex, the neighborhood restaurant and bar located just off the U Street corridor.

The caf is named for Antoine de Saint-Exupry, best known as author of the novel The Little Prince.

Proprietor Mike Benson says he opened the caf to create a “local meeting place” where “guests could enjoy delicious food in a comfortable setting.” Caf Saint-Ex’s kitchen is led by Executive Chef Barton Seaver, formerly of D.C.’s Ardeo, Felix and Jaleo.

The 12-seat open bar carries microbrewed beers and a wine list created by Seaver, also a sommelier. The large, outdoor, street-side patio is among its best touches.

Caf Saint-Ex is located at 1847 14th St. N.W.
