Iran unveils its ‘biggest’ drone

Iran on Monday unveiled a new drone that it said has a flight range of 1,250 miles, which would cover most of the Middle East, including Israel.

Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said Monday that the combat-capable drone was the biggest ever created in Iran, according to the official IRNA News Agency.

The drone, named Fotros, was capable of flying in the air for up to 30 hours, according to The Associated Press.

“This drone is able to carry out reconnaissance missions and carry air-to-surface rockets for combat operations," IRNA quoted Dehghan as saying.

The defense minister said that the drone was designed in Iran, and was developed despite economic sanctions against the country.

"Sanctions by enemies can't create an obstacle in the path of progress for our defense industries," Dehghan said, according to the AP.
