Former Navy SEALs found dead on ship featured in movie

Two former Navy SEALs were found dead aboard a container ship in the Indian Ocean that was featured in the movie “Captain Phillips.”

Virginia television station WAVY reported that the two former SEALs were found dead Tuesday aboard the Maersk Alabama, which was docked at a port in Seychelles, a small island north of Madagascar.

The men, Jeffery Reynolds and Mark Kennedy, worked for the Trident Security Firm based in Virginia Beach, Va., and were part of a crew that arrived at the port Sunday, according to WAVY.

The movie “Captain Phillips" portrayed the story of when pirates hijacked the ship off the coast of Somalia in 2009.

A State Department spokeswoman said that an investigation had been opened into the incident.
