Report: Canadian terror plot to derail train thwarted

The investigation involved the FBI and Homeland Security along with the Canadian government, according to the CBC.

CTV News reported that the terror plot involved derailing a New York-to-Toronto passenger train on the Canadian side of the border, and the suspects may be linked to al Qaeda.

Amtrak said in a statement it was "aware of the ongoing investigation and will continue to work with Canadian authorities to assist in their efforts."

The arrests were made Monday by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and local police.
